Easy browsing of properties is the key to success of a holiday cottage website. We designed a new navigation system allowing customers to effortlessly browse by size, location, date and cottage features such as dog friendliness. This was integrated with Keys Holidays online booking system, SuperControl.
Search engine optimisation and landing pages for Google Ads PPC campaigns were part of the brief as these are the main marketing activities for driving traffic to the new website.
Keyword research identified that customers mainly used location based search terms such as “holiday cottage Sheringham”. To optimise the website for these key search terms, we created location based pages for the main towns and areas that Keys Holidays served, which displayed all the cottages available in that area. Individual property pages were also optimised for search and Google Ads campaigns.
Strong calls to action were designed to help guide customers through the website and find their holiday with the minimum of fuss. The website was built using the Silverstripe content management system, chosen for its ease of use so Keys Holidays can manage website content themselves.
The website has been a great success and has significantly contributed to Keys Holidays growing their market share in a tough market.
