Faraday Motion Controls are specialists in motion control engineering. Their systems are used for anything where high precision motion control is important, from robotics to state-of-the-art scientific applications.
Faraday Motion Controls needed a new website that positioned them as experts in their field, to serve as credentials and generate leads. Enter Bigfork.
We started off with our Discovery Phase, by learning about Faraday Motion Controls’ products and customers, and quickly found out they have a highly technical product aimed at highly technical people. Their target audiences know what precision motion control is, so we didn’t need to explain that.
Instead, we needed to focus on positioning Faraday as the company to speak to when it comes to motion control systems. A big part of this was developing messages for the website that made it clear they were experts. And if you contact them, you’ll speak to an experienced engineer – not a salesperson.
After planning content and messages, the design kicked off with mood boards. We pitched two options with different strengths, then refined one of them into a website concept.
Of course, we couldn’t design a website about motion control without including motion, video was an obvious choice, along with abstract imagery to get across a feeling of movement. We also built in micro-animations, so pages felt fluid and always in-motion.
Faraday provides a core product range, so we built a searchable product database into the website.
For any company selling a product, high quality photography is essential, so we commissioned professional photography of their product range for use throughout the website.
All of this came together into a high-quality website that really positions Faraday head and shoulders above their competitors. And it doesn’t end there, as the Silverstripe content management system allows them to keep everything up to date and design new pages from content modules, so they’re not stuck with limited templates.
“Bigfork did a great job for us revamping our old website at Faraday Motion Controls. The process was very easy from start to finish and we now have a very professional site.”

A bespoke website like this would range from £15,000 to £25,000 depending on what you need. It would take 3 to 4 months to finish with a full time plan provided.
